The 9826N is designed to be used specifically as either a hot-line telephone (on PABX equipment with hot-line capability) or an answer-only telephone. It makes an ideal alternative to an ordinary telephone being brightly coloured and hence easy to see. With no keypad to make it "attractive" the 9826N is less likely to disappear from public places.
